Be Free…. To Write A Blog!
Welcome to the Be Free Therapy Group Blog!
On the second Monday of every month, I will be writing a blog post about anything and everything related to children and teenagers, growing up, parenting, the therapy world, life changes and challenges, and sometimes even sharing my experiences growing up in this ever-changing and fast-moving world.
Before we jump into this new world of blogging, I want to admit that I’m not a “know-it-all” about all this stuff! I’ve just had many different life experiences, and learned a lot in my professional world, that I thought I would share some tips, thoughts, and ideas with all of you.
As we start a brand new year, I wanted to write something about ‘fear’. I know it’s weird to write my first post about fear, but it can feel scary when we start something new! Our leading emotions are usually fear, worry and excitement. Mixing these emotions up can feel like a lot, and because of that, it can sometimes make us unsure of how to feel. Instinctively, fear is there to protect us, but fear can also hold us back from trying new things, meeting new people and making new memories. Fear can hold you back from joyful moments and celebrations. It can cause you anxiety and stress. Sometimes we just need to take a deep breath and take that step forward into something new. Be confident in ourselves and our skill set that we can do hard things. Sometimes it’s worth taking the risk to see the reward. Hope for the best, and not be afraid to reach out to those around us for support along the way.
A challenge I’m accepting for myself for 2025, is not being so afraid to try new things.
PS. A scary thing I did over the holidays, was adopt a new dog! Her name is Joy, and she is the biggest sweetheart. It’s been unreal to see how a dog, who was so afraid of certain things when we got her, has learned to trust us and the space around her. So far, she’s taught me how trust and time can break fears and heal wounds.
Do you have any fears you want to break this year? Leave a comment below!
